Chicken Run attached to a Chicken Coop

Have a chicken run attached to a chicken coop so your hens have extra space to roam.  Following are measurements as required.  Bantams would need 4 sq. ft/bird in the run.  Standard large fowls  would need 8 sq. ft/bird in the run.  Extra large chickens  would need 12 sq. ft/bird in the run.

You can let your hens run freely around your property however they usually head straight for your garden.

To prevent the chickens making a mess of what you would like orderly put them into a chicken run.  This can be made of cheap materials, like chicken wire, and is basically to put the birds where you want them to go.  Think of it as a play pen for a baby.

Chicken runs can be attached to a chicken coop and made of sturdy construction and fencing wire.  This would be a permanent fixture.

Or you can easily construct one with stakes and chicken wire and move it around to different areas of your garden.  This would still contain the hens without wearing the ground bare.
